چکیده

Abstract: In this paper, we develop a methodology for dynamic resource sharing in multimedia networks with competing traffic types. We introduce dynamic queueing models for multimedia traffic types, as well as approximate linearized dynamic queueing models. We formulate the problem as an dynamic non-cooperative Nash game and state the conditions for non-cooperative equilibrium. Finally, we propose load sharing, routing and admission control algorithms, which state that each traffic type should be allocated only on paths and destinations that minimize its Hamiltonian.

A Dynamic P2P Resource Sharing Architecture for Adapting MPEG-21 Digital Items in Mobile Networks

Due to the vast size, real-time requirement, QoS consideration, etc., of mobile devices, techniques like multimedia transcoding are developed to satisfy the need of surfing the multimedia services using mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a P2P resource sharing architecture for adapting MPEG-21 digital items in mobile networks. In the proposed P2P architecture, digital items can be shared...

Performance Analysis of Dynamic Spectrum Allocation in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks

© 2010 ETRI Journal, Volume 32, Number 2, April 2010 Increasing convergence among heterogeneous radio networks is expected to be a key feature of future ubiquitous services. The convergence of radio networks in combination with dynamic spectrum allocation (DSA) could be a beneficial means to solve the growing demand for radio spectrum. DSA might enhance the spectrum utilization of involved radi...

A Fuzzy Based Approach for Rate Control in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) undergo congestion when a link (or a node) becomes overpopulated in terms of incoming packets. In WMSNs this happens especially in upstream nodes where all incoming packets meet and directed to the sink node. Congestion in networks, if not handled properly, might lead to congestion collapse which deteriorates the quality of service (QoS). Therefore, i...

Dynamic Traffic Competition in Atm Networks

In todays heterogenous multimedia ATM networks, there are multiple network managers, multiple traffic types and every user exploits the network resources according to availability, performance and cost. Thus, there are many decision-makers competing each other, and each one tries to achieve the best for his own good. In order a decision-maker to take the best decisions, he should have accurate ...
